crochet hair clip, knit cowl and transylvania

Eliza crocheted this flower last Friday during class. She decorated it with shells and beads and made a beautiful hair clip. love!

I’m super scattered today. I can’t seem to concentrate on anything.
Memories of the movie I stayed up until 3 a.m. watching probably have a lot to do with my state of mind. It was wonderful, and worth losing sleep over.

transylvania
No vampires in the movie…lots of music and emotion. I watched it and knit a lace sampler swatch with many many mistakes. It hardly matters, it was hard to keep my eyes on the knitting and off the movie. Transylvania, trailer here.

I asked Felix to take my photo so I could show you the lovely cowl I received from Shannon. Will I ever take it off? Maybe when I realize it’s still summer and too warm to wear it. But, look at that blue koigu!
wearing lucky cowl
I’m lucky to have it, and so grateful. The occasion was a cowl swap organized by Julia, but there was also a baby shower and a going away. Amiee has lots of photos and so does Shannon. I didn’t manage to take any, I think because Felix was with me so I was concentrating on him.
Julia’s flickr set shows most of the cowls. Missing are Mary-Heather and Marnie.

I’m always amazed at the level of creativity the kids have at these classes. Maybe because they’ve got such an inspiring teacher!

Cowl swap was great–I loved meeting Felix (finally) who is such a sweet little boy! You’ll need to download Skype now so he can talk to MH all the time! (Or maybe not, hee hee!)

Yay! It was so great to see you, and meet Felix in person! I’m SO glad you like your cowl, because I had so much fun knitting it for you! It looks great on you, too. I still want to see it in its bandana form. :) xo-S.

I love how you work with the kids. Publishing their work in some format is so important! The cowl is awesome, and Felix, the photographer, did a great job!

That hair clip is fantastic! She’s obviously your student. I love the photo Fee took of you. He’s a budding artist for sure.
