pine cone and scarf
I first heard about the Red Scarf project while reading She Shoots Sheep Shots. After reading Gale’s Sept. 21 post, I started my scarf and enlisted my mom to knit one too. My mom worked with a wool/acrylic yarn in garter stitch on US size 11 needles. My scarf is wool and worked in a 2 x 2 rib stitch with US size 8 needles. I think it only took a couple of days to knit.

There’s still time! Please consider knitting a red scarf, for “A Great Charitable Knitting AND Crocheting Initiative that Provides Warmth and Encouragement to Foster Youth.”
The red scarf link will take you to all the details with lots of links to scarf patterns and inspiring photos. Deadline is December 15.

both are such pretty knits! and both sure to be well received.

i really like your yarn mixes here – the purples and pinks and the continuity of the tan yarn through the whole scarf.

i should do a scarf – i’d like to do a scarf – for this cause. i practically get a headache though thinking about all i have to get done in the next month.

you know, i decided not to knit for the family this xmas, they have enough of my knitting. now i have a place to put the knitting desire i have been feeling lately. thanks for the great suggestion and link. :)

is felix excited about the season? the boys saw their first disney parade and it was so fun (it happened to be my first disney parade too, could not tell who was more excited, me or them).
