On the last day of Wisdom Arts Lab sewing camp the kids showed off all their dolls and doll accessories. Each child made a wood bed, sewed a mattress, made a quilt, a doll, doll clothes, little tiny journals and pencils! and more!

Stitch Work is a small book (about 3 3/4″ x 4″), that I made as a sample for the embroidery class I’m teaching at the Wisdom Arts Lab.
The cover shows examples of back, blanket, stem, seed, chain, daisy and spider stitch…with some french knots too. Embroidery stitches have good, descriptive names.

Most of the samples I made for the class are pinned to this board. At the last minute, I whipped up the four flowers at the top. I’m glad I did because the pattern consists of just chain stitch and single crochet which proved to be enough stitch work for the first class.

Crochet flower class starts this Friday at Wisdom Arts Laboratory.
This week, while planning for the class I found myself analyzing stitches, and imagining flowers. Stitches and flowers, double crochet, triple crochet, circles, petals, curves, form and texture.
And, I fell in love with a certain thistle-y flower.
